Lawrence A. Still, 78, Black Press Journalist, Howard U. Journalism Chair - 2001

A reporter who covered racial attacks in the South for JET Magazine during the '60s and later became a Howard University communications professor, died in Washington. He was 78.
He served as a JET Magazine editor in Chicago and covered many civil rights stories in the South. Later he worked for the Afro American Newspapers and the Washington Star Newspaper. He was a past president of the Capital Press Club in Washington and a member of many press organizations.
